GIZ’s project “Commercialisation of Solar Energy in Urban and Industrial Areas (ComSolar)” in India has identified the pharmaceutical sector as one that holds high promise for application of solar technologies. This report is about a pilot project that aimed to raise awareness and generate interest by providing an overview of relevant solar technologies and their applications to the pharmaceutical industry. The report gives details about the process and findings from the pilot, the lessons learnt, and major barriers during its roll out, based on which a way forward has also been presented.
