The design guidelines developed by the project for the design of energy-efficient multi-storey residential buildings for all major climatic regions of the country were highlighted in the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) submitted by the Government of India in the run-up to the Paris Climate Change Conference in 2015.

The work done under BEEP served as a basis to develop India’s first Roadmap for Energy Efficient Residential buildings by IEA. Inputs were also provided to formulate SE4All’s report on ‘Electricity Consumption for Cooling in 2050’ as well as to the K-CEP Phase 2 strategy document on passive cooling.
